Sayless Projects is a Texas nonprofit inspiring action and possibility through shared stories. We use running, storytelling, and community to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.
Where it started
In December 2021, our founder Vincent Holland lost his dad to suicide.
He didn't have the words, so he ran. Training runs became a place to grieve. In 2022 he ran the Chicago Marathon for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. At the start line, a stranger tapped his shoulder, pointed to the photo on his shirt, and mouthed, "Me too." Same shirt. Same kind of loss. Nobody should have to carry this alone.
In April 2024, sitting with a blank page, Vincent wrote two words: say less. No more explaining. Just doing something about it.
A month later, 12 runners set out on a 230+ mile relay from Dallas to Austin. They finished on the steps of the Texas State Capitol, and the messages started coming in from people who had lost someone, and from people fighting to stay. That relay became the foundation for everything we do now.

"Say less" is a finish line of a phrase. Period. Nothing left to explain. It's how we answer when someone needs us to show up. No big speech. We just show up.
We run for those who no longer can, and for those who keep going.
