DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT
GINA BALDERAS
I’m running because I want to be the kind of support I needed when I was younger.
I’m part of this year’s Dallas to Austin relay because I want to be part of something greater than myself. I want to challenge myself, do it with a team, and use my miles to make a difference.
Mental health and suicide prevention mean a lot to me because I know what it feels like to be in a dark place. During my early college years, I walked away from certain relationships and struggled with depression and self-harm. It took a village to help me get out of that season, and because of that, I try my best to be a villager for others. I’m running this relay to show up for people who may need hope, support, and someone willing to care.
If you believe in showing up for people and supporting something bigger than ourselves, I’d be honored to have your support.
