DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT

KARINA PUENTES

I’m running because I want to push back against the voice that once told me I was not enough.

I’m part of this year’s Dallas to Austin relay because overcoming challenges has shaped my life. Committing to something this demanding is my way of pushing back against old narratives and proving that struggle does not get the final say.

When I was younger, bullying led to body dysmorphia and a constant feeling of not being good enough. For years, those thoughts shaped how I saw myself and what I believed I was capable of. Mental health and suicide prevention are personal to me because I know what it feels like to struggle silently with your own mind. I’m running this relay to raise awareness, to challenge self-doubt, and to remind people that struggling does not mean failing. It means you are human.

If you believe in showing up for people and supporting something bigger than ourselves, I’d be honored to have your support.
